Department of Mammography

A mammogram is a breast xray image. It can be used in women who have no signs or symptoms of the disease to test for breast cancer. If you have a lump or any other symptom of breast cancer, it can also be used. Tell your doctor about any signs or issues with your breast, previous surgery, use of hormones, whether you have a family history or personal history of breast cancer, and if you are pregnant. Get copies of your previous mammograms, if possible, and make them available on the day of your examination to your radiologist. Leave home the jewelry and wear comfortable, loose clothes.
