Cardiology is a medicine field concerned with heart and blood vessel disorders. The cardiology area is concerned with heart failure diagnosis and treatment, congenital heart defects, heart valve disease, coronary artery disease, and electrophysiology. In this field of medicine, physicians are called cardiologists. Cardiologists work closely with heart surgeons, supervise drug and other heart related therapies, perform studies of basic heart-functions as well as provide on-going care and management of heart patients.
